Blown Glass Sculpture

This pattern is laid out on a steel plate before  the piece is blown, and rolled up when the piece is being blown. A molten colored glass wrap is applied to the shoulder of the piece to enhance this design. The top  of the piece is then engraved, with a diamond wheel, to give the vase a very appealing detail and to reveal the interior. Finally the vessel is sandblasted to give the piece a matte finish that reveals the subtle pattern on the surface.

This piece is 6" tall with an 6" diameter.
