The crystals form, or “grow”, in the kiln when the materials and the firing cycle (controlled by computer) is perfect, developing during a heat “soaking” and cooling cycle. Sometimes there are tiny all over crystals, sometimes big single floating ones. Sometimes you may spot a little “bowtie” crystal, one that did not grow into a circle.
